Voted one of the top burgers in L.A. by Zagat in 2014, Simmzy’s features craft beers and burgers in a lively, beachy environment. Arrive early or be prepared to wait at this immensely popular restaurant.
The restaurant will also be opening a new brewery which will include a seven-barrel brewhouse in the upstairs lounge area and a handful of fermentation and conditioning tanks downstairs opposite the bar. It will focus on producing a handful of house beer styles for the chain. The house beers were formerly contract-brewed at Golden Road Brewing and FirestoBrian Herbertson, formerly of Riverside brewpub Wicks Brewing, who is known for his decorated Paladin Pale Ale, will handle the brewing duties, while Greg Bechtel rejoins the Simmzy’s team from El Segundo Brewing Co. Bechtel, a newly minted Advanced Cicerone® (think level III Somm) is overseeing the beer programs at all the Simmzy’s locations.
This was our first visit to Simmzey's. It was a spontaneous visit, not sure what to expect and what kind of food was on the menu.
We tried everything the had on the happy hour appetizer menu. Every item was excellent. Loved the eclectic ambience. We were here on a Friday afternoon, there was a continuous crew of young studio folks rolling in.
Comfortable, good food, good service. Full Review
This place has such a Dope feel to it. The ambiance is really great, mood lightening after a certain hour and all. Our waitress was a gem. We were laughing and having such a good time that I didn't even get her name! But know she sets the standards for the way their staff is there. Everyone is attentive, friendly and on top of details. Something you'd assume should be automatic for restaurants, but don't come across to often anymore. Full Review
Stopped by on our way to the airport, and so glad we did. Great food, great beer, and probably the nicest servers ever! (Or waitress Dana was amazing.) It has the neighborhood "joint" feeling down perfectly) It's highly recommended! Full Review
