LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART (LACMA)
Devoted to collecting works of art that span both history and geography and represent Los Angeles’s uniquely diverse population.
LACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States, with a collection that includes nearly 130,000 objects dating from antiquity to the present, encompassing the geographic world and nearly the entire history of art. Among the museum’s strengths are its holdings of Asian art, Latin American art, ranging from pre-Columbian masterpieces to works by leading modern and contemporary artists; and Islamic art, of which LACMA hosts one of the most significant collections in the world.
The best time to come for a visit is any time. If you're broke and don't want to go inside, there's quite a few free activities to enjoy outside. Like having a picnic by the entrance, hanging out in the noodle exhibit, admiring the huge rock in the back or having a photo op out front in the Urban Lights exhibit.
I've had a great time all the times I've been here. I didn't even go inside until recently. I've always just walked the grounds and checked out all the freebies outside.
Kids 17 and under are free. So it evens out if you bring even just one or two kids. Full Review
It is always good to switch things up and go to something educational for a change, alone, with friends or family this is a great place to learn something new.
There are so many neat exhibits, things to see and learn and great photo opps!
The staff is very nice and helpful and the grounds very clean and well maintained.
Fun for all ages even my son enjoyed it here, I felt the admission price was fair as there was really a lot to see.
