PETERSEN AUTOMOTIVE MUSEUM
A car lovers dream museum depicting the history of the automobile and its impact on American life and culture.
The Petersen Automotive Museum features automobiles throughout history from the 1931 Ford Model A Station Wagon to the 2006 Ford GT in their own collection. They also have visiting collections and special exhibitions rotating, so there is always something new to see. You’ll find your favorite celebrity cars call this place home as well. You’ll see 1946 Ford “Grease Lightning” from Grease The Batmobile and even the Pontiac Aztec from the TV show Breaking Bad.
The museum is also family friendly with the Cars Mechanical Institute where visitiors learn about the mechanical systems that make cars work and the CARSpad “Build a Virtual Racecar” Game.
It's really the only place your kids can actually touch and play with things. So...we didn't have a reservation but walked in 20 minutes before a one hour session ended and they let us in :). Thank you nice people. Inside the kids room there's a car track, ipads, art and several learning centers to learn about how cars run. Oh and a Lightning McQueen outside! You know who that is right?;)
The third floor was my kids favorite. Lots of old cars from movies including the batmobile, bat motorcycle, and a Bond car. Full Review
Probably the most reasonably priced, private attraction in Los Angeles! Had a great time looking at the beautiful classic cars and nice exhibits.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the facility is very clean.
The restaurant is being remodeled, so bed aware you may have to eat offsite.
