TV TAPINGS

Love shows like Hell’s Kitchen or the American Rescue Dog Show? It’s easy to take in one of your faves when you advance-reserve your free tickets to a live TV show taping!

1. Shows Don't Tape Year Round

Most shows begin taping in the fall, so that is the best time to attend. However, there are usually some shows taping throughout the year in Burbank and Los Angeles.

2. Get Ready to Be Up Close and Personal

Most production studios are smaller than they appear on TV. The audience is no more than 20 or 30 feet away from the actors or talk show host, so you can count on it being a very intimate experience.

3. Be Prepared for a Long Day

Tapings can last from 3-6 hours, and you might have to wait outside in line before the taping. Food is usually prohibited inside the studio, so eat a large meal right before or a snack while waiting in line.

4. It's Free to Attend, But You Need Reservations

The easiest way to get tickets is online via an audience services company. These can be found at the bottom of the page. Tickets are usually released 30 days in advance with popular shows selling out on the first day.

5. Proper Attire & Etiquette

Some shows will require a certain dress code if the audience is seen on camera. This is usually business casual with no flip flops or shorts. Check your tickets for instructions. If possible, leave your cameras and recorders in your hotel room as well as your cell phone. Check your tickets for detailed instructions on recording devices. Some shows require audience participation and reaction. Improper behavior will result in immediate expulsion from the taping.
